Privacy Policy

Nestful ("we," "us," or "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you use the Nestful app and website, how we use it, and your rights regarding that information.
1. Information We Collect
We collect the following information when you use Nestful:
Account information:
- Your name and email address when you create an account
- If you sign in with Google, your name, email address, and Google profile information
- Password (stored securely via Firebase Authentication — we never see your password in plain text)
Product information you provide:
- Product names, types, brands, and descriptions
- UPC barcodes and serial numbers
- Purchase dates, manufacture dates, and warranty expiration dates
- Photos of products (uploaded from your camera or photo library)
Usage and technical information:
- App activity such as products added, recalls checked, and features used
- Device type and operating system version
Subscription and purchase information:
- Whether you have an active Nestful Covered subscription
- Subscription plan type and expiration date
- Payment is processed by Apple — we do not store your payment card details
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Create and manage your Nestful account
- Store and display your product inventory
- Check your products against CPSC recall databases and alert you to any matches
- Track warranty expiration dates and send relevant reminders
- Identify products from photos using AI-powered image recognition
- Process and manage your subscription
- Improve the app and fix issues
- Respond to your support requests
3. Third-Party Services
Nestful uses the following third-party services to operate:
- Google Firebase — authentication, database (Firestore), and cloud storage. Google Privacy Policy

- Anthropic (Claude AI) — used to identify products from photos and match products against recall data. Product information and images may be sent to Anthropic's API for processing. Anthropic Privacy Policy
- U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) — we query the public CPSC recall database to check your products for active recalls. No personal data is sent to the CPSC.
- Apple App Store / StoreKit — handles all in-app purchases and subscriptions. Apple Privacy Policy

4. Camera and Photo Library Access
Nestful requests access to your camera and photo library solely to allow you to photograph products for identification. Photos are processed by Anthropic's Claude AI to identify the product. We do not store your photos beyond what is needed to display your product in the app. You may revoke camera and photo library permissions at any time in your device settings.
5. Data Storage and Security
Your data is stored securely in Google Firestore, hosted in the United States. We use industry-standard security measures including encrypted connections and Firebase Authentication to protect your information. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
6. Data Sharing
We do not sell or rent your personal information. We only share your data with the third-party services listed in Section 3 as necessary to operate the app, or as required by law.
7. Children's Privacy
Nestful is designed for parents and guardians of young children. The app itself is intended for use by adults only. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13. The product data you enter (such as baby gear details) relates to children's products but is provided by and associated with your adult account.
If you believe a child under 13 has created an account or submitted personal information, please contact us at hello@getnestful.com and we will delete it promptly.
8. Your Rights and Choices
You have the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you
- Request correction of inaccurate data
- Request deletion of your account and associated data
- Withdraw consent for optional data uses at any time
- Revoke camera or photo library permissions via your device settings
To request account deletion or exercise any of these rights, email us at hello@getnestful.com. We will respond within 30 days.
9. Account Deletion
You may request deletion of your Nestful account and all associated data at any time by emailing hello@getnestful.com or through the Profile section of the app. Upon deletion, your account, product data, and personal information will be permanently removed from our systems within 30 days.
10. Data Retention
We retain your data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service. If you delete your account, we will delete your data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.
11. California Privacy Rights (CCPA)
If you are a California resident, you have the right to know what personal information we collect, request deletion of your personal information, and opt out of the sale of personal information. We do not sell personal information. To exercise your rights, contact us at hello@getnestful.com.
12. International Users
Nestful is operated in the United States. If you are accessing the app from outside the United States, please be aware that your information may be transferred to and stored in the United States. By using Nestful, you consent to this transfer.
13. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as the app evolves. If we make material changes, we will notify you by email or through a notice in the app. The effective date at the top of this page will always reflect the most recent revision.
